How the Contest WorksThe Cool Truro - Colchester contest aims to motivate reduction in our power use. We'll measure this by comparing your power bills of last year with those from the same period coming up.
To be part of the contest you must be a Colchester County household, or a business that is on non-demand billing. You will be required to give permission for Nova Scotia Power to allow the Cool Truro organizers to verify your power consumption. Although conserving power is the biggest part of the contest, keep in mind that electricity is not the only precious resource! Contest participants will also be judged on areas such as water conservation and waste management as well. To get started, please fill out the form areas to the right. We'll be coming around with your Cool Truro identifiers to let cool folks know you're doing your part. You will also be contacted by the Community Sustainability Coordinator, Erica Brook, to undertake a personalized energy and environmental review. And by the way, did we mention that there are some big prizes at the end? The prizes will include money toward helpful energy-saving items of your choice, eco-friendly products and local goods. Not to mention bragging rights! Your Privacy: We will not share or use the information given to us for any purpose other than the Cool Truro - Colchester campaign. |
